London Collections: Men: TSOA X Clarks shoes

So the London Collections: Men are over and what an incredible time it’s been. Three days. Twenty-three shows, too many coffees to count (and maybe booze too) and a whole lot of fun has been had.

Working with Clarks throughout LCM has been an absolute joy and I can’t thank them enough for looking after us so well. Having the Range Rover was a total lifesaver, especially when it came to getting to the further away shows.

But what about the shoes? Our task was to test and review the new Clarks SS14 range and see if they would live up to our high standards.

Clarks have been a high street force for decades, synonymous with the classic school shoe and simple, study designs. But for SS14 Clarks takes strides into the fashion-conscious world, combining their iconic craftsmanship with of-the-minute style. The collections has the breadth and depth that makes it a truly 360 lifestyle brand. From formal to casual, business and pleasure, the SS14 collection will make sure you make a step in the right direction.

I road tested two styles during the London Collections: Men, the Chart Zip boots in Brown Suede and the Grimsby Limit brogues in Blue Combi.

I wore the blue Grimsby brogues on day one with my Topman suit. I was so excited for these shoes; the colour was also darker in real life than they appear online, which was a perfect match for my suit. The build quality on these shoes is incredible. They are sturdy and look super stylish and a lot more expensive than they are which is always a plus (they retail at £79.99) and loads of people commented on them. The Grimsby runs a little long in the foot so it might be worth trying a size down.

*Now I must put a disclaimer in here and admit that I committed a style sin and wore this shoes for a full day without breaking them in first. So by the end of a fifteen-hour day my feet are aching a lot. The build quality is so good and leather so sturdy that it caused a git of a blister. So make sure you wear them in.

For day two I wore the brown Chart Zip boots. Now I had been in the market for a new staple pair of brown boots so I jumped at the chance to get these bad boys. These boots are a classic style, but are given a modern finish with a double-zip fastening.  They are uber comfortable and super stylish. Better yet, these boots retail at £74.99 – a really reasonable price considering the quality. Both shoes are on rubber soles that can’t be replaced, but as a standard, go-to shoe, the styles and quality on offer is hard to match or find elsewhere. Recommended.

I couldn’t be more impressed with the collection and I know the other boys were as equally impressed with their choices.

Here are some of pics from the week.
